This is a gorgeous hand etched coal necklace, they call it MUSICA. when you order this necklace you also get a card with a photo of the boys and the history behind this necklace. These necklaces are carved by young boys and young men whom prior to the Fair market trade federation, were having to work in coal mines that had weak to next to nothing infrastructure, poisonous gasses, to aleve the bitter poverty they live in. These boys and young men were dying from the mines collapsing and the poisonous gasses, now with our help they are taking the coal and making it into stunning works of art, hand etched by hands that should never, ever be allowed in a coal mine. These boys now attend school part of the day then they attend classes in the art of MUSICA and hand carving the coal then they go to work making these necklace, much better then risking their young lives in the coal mines of Columbia! This necklace is strung on a silky cord that is knotted in the back, I am also macrameing alpaca fiber with Sterling silve closures so you will have the choice of wearing it with alpaca or the silky cord! What an amazing gift to give and a gift to these poverty stricken boys!!!
